Garden Birthday Wishes

Hello once again!  The card I have to share was made for the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday and for the color challenge at ColourQ, where this weeks colors are Kraft, Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals and Pink Pirouette.

This sketch was so much fun!  The Mojo challenge on the last Monday of the month has traditionally been to create either a square or round card, but they have started out the new year changing the format to a tall and skinny card.  I also have to say that I love, love, love this color combination and will look to use it again soon.  The Primrose and Blushing Bride especially look yummy with the Kraft/Crumb Cake color!

The Crumb Cake card base measures 3.5" x 5.5".  I cut a strip of Primrose Petals Core'dinations card stock, embossed it with the Alphabet Press embossing folder and then used the Stampin' Sanding Block to bring out the lighter color in the core of the paper.  The daisy from Secret Garden was stamped in Primrose Petals and then a second time in Pink Pirouette.  Both were cut out with the matching framelits but then I used my paper snips to cut into the Pink Pirouette petals so the Primrose flower would show more once they were layered.

I struggled with what to use across the top.  I pulled out a variety of ribbons and didn't like any of them, then I hit upon using the Gold Baker's Twine and accenting the flower center and the white space with gold sequins.

Well, time to get some things done before the big Superbowl game (GO Seahawks!).  Thanks for dropping by and taking a look! As always, I'd love to hear from you if you have time to leave a comment.

Hugs,

Stef
